Hi, my name is Matt. I visited, for the first time the maker hive just last week.
I have some experience with arduino, raspberry pi and Linux.
I come from the AEC industry with experience in Drafting and design for commercial and residential construction. I work extensively with Autodesk products, develop c# & SQL plugins, and facilitate career training for a local rapidly growing drafting firm.
Two projects that have collected dust that I might bring by to work on:
Converting an old GE clock radio into a clock Bluetooth radio.
Creating a speed indicating road sign for my Mother's campground by hacking a hot wheels radar gun.

Those both sound like awesome projects!
I just bought a $19 bluetooth audio receiver with a built in stereo amplifier from MCM Electronics. I've got a star-wars themed audio project in mind for mine.
For the speed sign, did you see the project where the bicyclist made a speed sign vest? It was pretty cool!
Very cool, thanks for sharing. My mother has been having some trouble with lead footed campers, and with kids around no one needs any more speed bumps. So I started looking around a few years ago stumbled on this and bought me a toy radar gun: www.edparadis.com/radar/
I am planning on being there Thursday. Going to bring my radar gun and get started on that project. Very excited to see where it goes. Commercial systems that display your speed on the side of the road are ridiculously over priced.
