I received a message from Kristen Kearney from the Success Academy of South Bend, and they've applied to host a mini maker faire this summer. Tentatively on July 30th.
Kristen is coming to MRRF to see what it's all about. She'll probably come to our area and talk to us about it, so keep an eye out for her.
Another note... It's the same day as the Detroit Maker Faire. I don't know how concrete their date is yet, but I did tell her that it would decrease her maker/exhibitor turnout.
I'll keep you guys in the loop as the details come in.
They should find a better date, that will eliminate lots of makers. Seeme, me, Brian. Grand rapids makers, st. Joe makers, these are the ones I see at Detroit.

Wouldn't it make more sense for you to go to one closer to your location? It does for a makerspace trying to gain more members, but vendors would go to the more popular one. Maybe Detroit will loose some makers.
But yes, they should seriously consider changing the date.
Some things are meant to be closed. Your mind isn't one of them.

Honestly, this year I would probably go to the mini-faire in SB instead of Detroit just because I'd like to connect with other locals. Dont' get me wrong, I like the Detroit faire, but it seems to be fairly similar year to year...
