Also, I have been a beekeeper for five years and find that rewarding.
I heard about you guys at MRRF last weekend. I'll have a 3d printer soon.
I will join you guys on Thursdays as soon as I can to check out the space. (I have a commitment for the next 9 weeks though).
For knowledge sharing ideas.... I'm interested in learning more about and getting some experience with welding, cnc, laser cutting, plastic molding, ceramics, fiberglass and carbon fiber.
I am not sure what I want to make yet but have ideas all the time.
We have an excellent beekeepers club in this area. We are happy to educate. You can get more information on our site and check us out by coming to our meeting next Wednesday. We meet once a month typically. This time it will be at the Napanee Public library at 6:00PM.
Now is the time of year to get started. We expect a lot of colony losses due to the bad winter and CCD. So you should order your bees now (if they are not already sold out) and bone up on everything before they arrive in mid-late April. Check with Danny Slabaugh in Napanee on getting bees as well as other equipment.
Our newsletter (The bee Line) is on the site too; along with past issue (Lots of good stuff in there). Danny's contact info is always in the Bee Line.
Interestingly enough, the latest Make Magazine issue 38 has an article about bee keeping and Solitary bee condos. Although I don't think you harvest honey from them.
