Hello Maker Hive Makers!
I'm Dexter, one of the co-founders of Make Michiana.
We're located out of South Bend and are comprised of a group of students that believe that building upon the Maker community is in the best interests of all of Michiana. We're trying to utilize social networking tools to educate Michiana about The Maker Movement and increase awareness for makers in the area. We just started April 3rd and we already have about 350 people following us, and we don't intend to be slowing down anytime soon. The maker movement is generally associated with a very particular set of activities, but we want to expand on that and really incorporate and encourage anything DIY. Our primary goal is to create content that inspires others to get up and make something; anything. Our secondary goal is to help local makers succeed in bringing their creations to market, and we would love to showcase any crowd-funding projects in the area.
I'm here because Jim Spencer messaged me on Facebook and has sent me some things to post on behalf of The Maker Hive and Maker Hive members. We would like to post and let people know what you're doing as an organization, individual hobbyist, entrepreneur or business owner. We aren't makers by profession nor do we intend to be, we just want to help to facilitate making and will help in any way we can.
You can find us on every major social network, but our primary focus is Facebook.
If you're interested just like our page, invite some friends and message us with anything you'd like shared.
All we ask is that you try to provide some high quality images, and as much detail as possible (when, where, what's going on, how much does it cost ect.).
