Hi everybody! I've been with the MakerHive for about 2 years now, and it's awesome!
I do AV work for Notre Dame, but in the evenings I take off my Clark Kent glasses and make stuff! I've got a 3D printer from the SeeMeCNC guys in Goshen, parts for a second, am building a 3rd that's a resin printer, and just pledged for a 4th on KickStarter... I guess I've got a full blown 3D problem
I've got an audio background and have built multiple guitars and speakers (both guitar speakers, bookshelf 2-ways, subwoofer cabinets, etc) which means I understand basic electronics, woodworking, and a little bit of physics/math. I'm also a gear head and own a couple motorcycles and an old Mustang (67 coupe, that needs a lot of work).
I'm currently in the middle of several projects including building a quad-copter with printed parts, making a laser cutter out of a ShapeOko mill, building a printed dust collector for woodworking in the garage, and more. This year I want to hone my skills with 3D modeling, learn how to program my Arduino and Raspberry Pi, I want to build a robot with motors and servos, and I want to continue learning about electronics.
I hope you can come and join us at The Hive!
Jim
