You can split any object in half, symmetrical has nothing to do with it's basic parts (which any basic part is symmetrical) and every complex part is made up of basic parts, so if that is your definition, then any part is symmetrical. Other than terrain or a figurine, what would you consider non-symmetrical?
Symmetry also depends on what axes you divide it on.

LOL, Unless the object is some abstract piece of art I don't think your going to get away from symmetry, at least not for anything practical for use. Yes the crank handle is still symmetrical - but not as bad as a cone with a few holes in it.
I'd rather see the limitation of each CAD software rather than who can draw the most asymmetrical part. For example, notice the bottom of side of the crank (center section) isn't fillet. That's because eMachine doesn't recognize the center part and the bottom part as a single piece and will fillet the entire bottom edge of the center leaving a fillet around the seem of the bottom piece. So someone with better software could improve on that drawing by filleting that bottom edge of the center without cutting into the seem of the bottom hub. Thus showing the weakness of eMachine shop.
