nice, but it is $150 vs. $70 No more than I use it, that is hard to justify. Not like a tool I make a living with.
I got to looking at the two and it looks to me like they are identical, bet they are made in the same factory - only the face is different. But honestly I have a Hot air station and rarely use it.

Thanks for the info Glenn. Hot air gun can be used to de-solder components right? how well does that work really? Would be nice for heat shrink tube also ?
Can you tell if the tips are a common available ones? I don't want another iron with weird tips.
I may try this unit for $70.00 Or does it make more sense, if spending $70 to get a "better" unit without the hot air wand?
By the way, I ordered an ultrasonic cleaner on 6.30.15 from this company and it arrived at the office today ! Pretty quick for free shipping, less that a week. Once I test it out, I will let you guys know if it is any good. www.thelashop.com/stainless-steel-digital-ultrasonic-cleaning-machine-6l.html looks like price went up a little, I got it for $180 delivered, I also had a 4th of July discount code for $10
I'm not sure about using it on heat shrink... The air is very hot and has low flow. Easy to burn/melt the shrink. I often use an open flame (candle, lighter, etc) for shrinking shrink.
For desoldering surface mount parts a hot air station works great. As in lift the part off with tweezers. You can desolder surface mount parts with a regular iron and solderwick, but it is more work and sometime causes damage. I haven't tried using hot air to remove thru hole parts.

Doesn't work too well. The best I have found to desolderer TH is with a air nozzle from a 120psi air hose. Heat the junction and as soon as you see it liquify - SPISHH!! hit with the air. Makes pretty patterns of solder on the table too. Usually blows the hole clean the first time.
But yes, most SM parts blow right off the board with the hot air gun. If you use it for heat shrink be freaking quick lol.
