Introduction to Basic Arduino Programming and Basic Electronics
Learn about what a Micro-controller is and what it does. Explore the possibilities with an introduction to Basic Arduino programming and create a real working program and see it in action all while learning some basic in DC electronics.
This class will include a small Lab that you can keep afterwords

The Kit includes (and what you will need if your are bringing your own)
1 - Arduino R3 UNO clone.
1 - USB type A to mini B cable.
1 - 830 point Bread board with power rails
30 - Jumper wires for bread board
1 - N Channel MOSFET
6 - LEDs, random colors
5 - 1N4007 1 amp Diode
1 - 1.5v to 3v DC vibration motor
1 - 3.5 to 5v Buzzer
1 - 3 color RGB LED
5 - Momentary Tactile switch (push button)
10 - 10K OHM 1/4 watt resistor
10 - 330 OHM 1/4 watt resistor
1 - 1000uF 16V Radial Electrolytic Capacitor
2 - 470uF 25V Radial Electrolytic Capacitor
5 - 10uF 50V Radial Electrolytic Capacitor
1 - Adjustable Potentiometer
What you will need to bring
You will need a Laptop with the Arduino IDE Downloaded, Download it here. I recommend the ZIP file for non admin install.
Drivers are included in the zip file but you may also need to download FTDI drivers for the USB communication There will be MakerHive members to help get you up and running.
How to sign up and pay
To sign up for the class send an email to gjb @ themakerhive.com with "Arduino Class" in the subject line.
Bring Cash to the Maker meetings (preferred) or you can click the "DONATE" Button and donate the appropriate amount to the MakerHive via PayPal.
Anyone is welcome to the class so spread the word!

Due to space constraints the class will have to be held to 15 participants, but not to worry! If there is enough interest we will hold the class a second time.
