I wrap my heater blocks in silicone tape, temperature is much more stable, quicker and not affected by air movement from part cooling fan. It is a really good thing. PID tune has to be re-done after wrap because it makes so much difference. I have been hunting for a better way to insulate heater block, the tape does not stay in place very well, it is difficult to install and does not look very neat.
This looks like it was done with a 3D printed mold. Can we get a liquid silicone casting resin that will stand the heat?

I like this idea a lot!
Ask Mark what Alumilight has. Or maybe Smooth-On
Some things are meant to be closed. Your mind isn't one of them.
Mine is wrapped with silicone. I have a cotton ceramic fiber jacket coming that can be cut to the size your need for your hot end. I'll bring them in when they get here from China.
