Smoothing steppers with diodes

I came across this and would like to give it a try...

glenn, with your YJ-Pad junction blocks, wouldn't this be super easy to do with it and some diodes
anybody have a handful of the correct diodes?

would be great to tinker with this on Thursday.

OK, we can try it - but for what purpose? Will it make the motors quieter? I have to ask who moves their delta that slow?
A better stepper driver would work also, just saying.

This isn't anything new - It seems we tried something like this already once before ? ? ?

I have some 3 amp diodes, so sure lets give it a shot, see what happens. I'll get some PADs made up for Thursday.
