I want to vote for more than 2!
All things programming would be awesome. Arduino, BBB, RaspPi, etc general how-to Advanced electronics IC's and simple micro-controllers 3D modeling and design Welding Machining Remote Control toys
I'm thinking it would be handy if we all had a common 3D package (123D and Sketchup come to mind) - makes it easy to share files and work on common projects. But I don't know how to drive either one of these. A class on the selected software would be quite helpful.
Design spark mechanical should be on that list also for consideration. I think a standard everyone uses is going to be hard to implement because each person is going to" get" one or the other.
Concerning the 3D CAD stuff - I think each one of us should present the one we like and know most about. That way we all get the pros and cons of each one. For simple mechanical parts I prefer eMachine. It is their software for ordering custom parts from them but it will export a clean STL file. It's what I use for simple parts like my knob. knob3.stl (347.15 KB) It's easy to use - no frills and the perspective is that from a machinist point of view.

Would anyone be interested in a class on OpenSCAD? What would you want to get out of it if so?
danwake will be giving a short intro to OpenSCAD at the next Meeting, June 26th. If interested, please go to www.openscad.org/ and download and install the software in advanced. Thanks!

Ok, Spetember is on it's way and so is the colder weather. I think it's time to start thinking about clases again.
First up I will start putting together an Ardunio Weekend. So send me your thoughts on what you would like to see. I am also thinking about taking this a bit further than just a class, just tossing some Ideas.
I was hoping my Kits would have been here by now, but I'm starting to think I got taken.
