This is a cool process. I wondered how detailed graphics are put on objects. I would love to try this out on some 3D printed vases. (or Quad Copter bodies)
The only issue with the vase is getting it to seem properly on the warp around. It's hard to get the pattern to line up. We've been doing things like this in the RV & auto industry for years.

Some things are meant to be closed. Your mind isn't one of them.
I was just going to say Glenn.. this is old tech. You just have to get skilled at the process. Similar to molding, undercuts are the problem areas with Hyrdo-dipping. It also helps if the surface is smooth (Vapor Bath).
