Hey there,
I'm totally new here and just found this group while searching the Nation of Makers site. I live in Goshen and have been looking for a local makerspace but have had trouble finding one for awhile. I am a Physician Assistant at a local ER in the area.
I am excited to find other people with similar interests. I am really new to making but I do have some experience with Woodworking, Electric, and computers. I am very excited to learn more about robotics and programming. I am also interested to brainstorm how these could be related to the medical field since that is where I feel most comfortable. I have also been looking for resources for my 3 year old son to get him interested in more STEM type activities as well.
What are the weekly meetings like and do I just show up to them? I am interested in eventually becoming a member!

Hey Ben! (guessed from your profile email) The Hive meets off of Johnson St. on Thursday evenings starting around 6, and lasting until we're all in trouble and have to go home. Usually between 11 and midnight. We meet in the loft of a business called Royale Phoenix goo.gl/maps/LLx7BTMZAv62
We're a pretty 3D printer heavy makerspace, but also do a lot with lasercutting, CNC wood carving, have a wood lathe, and also are starting to learn about metal machining and things like that. We've got a nice standing height soldering station, and several of the guys are quite good with Arduino and other microcontrollers and programming languages.
It's the slow time of the year when people are on vacation, kids have sports, people do yard work, etc. but there's still a handful of us that show up each week to work on projects together. Come check it out sometime, and bring a project!
