This is the time of year when the needy and helpless need no help, well less at least, and gives me time to reflect on what has become of my life in the last year. The following is a part of this reflection in simple form:
The MakerHive has been a needed, vital, and joyous addition to my life in multiple ways. Many of you probably already realize and have experienced the effect of "Not being the smartest guy in the room". For me, it is a wonderful and relaxing effect. Most importantly, every time I leave The MakerHive, I am smarter than the guy I was when I walked in.
Many of you probably realize the power of a Makerspace and definitely the power of The MakerHive. Being able to receive answers, guidance, and advice about the projects or endeavors you are working on, is a much different and superior experience inside of The MakerHive, as opposed to searching for answers on the Internutz. Being able to have a portion or ALL of your project come alive while at The Makehive is just astonishing, when you thought it might take you a couple more weeks or months to figure out. We call that getting "Maker_spaced"!
Any Makerspace is its members and the members of The Makerspace are truly a combination gathered from the divine.
I personally what to thank everyone that contributes to The MakerHive in everyone form.
Glenn Berden: Thank you for saving the makerspace that has now become The MakerHive. I couldn't imagine my life without it and wouldn't want to. Thanks for all of your hard work, dedication, and improvements to making The MakerHive a valuable contribution to the community and thank you for always helping me out when needed.
Jim Spencer: Thank you for having the inquisitive and determined mind of a well written computer program (probably written by Dan Wakefield) that has been extremely valuable to the space and to me personally. Definitely glad I got to meet you. Thank you for all that you contribute with media and networking concerning the growth and exposure of The MakerHive, it has not gone unnoticed
Shane Graber: Thank you for sharing all of your specialized knowledge which helps make us all a little smarter when you contribute. Thanks for all your projects that you share and things you learn along the way of your own personal journeys into making.
Larry Reising: Thank you for your sage wisdom and contributions to The MakerHive. You inspire me to learn more... faster (so I can catch up to you where you were 20 years ago).
Dan Wakefield: <thanks> Thank you for being Dan Wakefield </thanks>. You have become a very valuable member of the Hive and your willingness to help is unmatched. Thank you for every sliver of info and help you have ever given me.
John Byers: Thank you for sharing your remarkable gifts of electronics and EE to everyone. You have helped many projects on a deep level and that is highly appreciated and valued.
Brian VanDiepenbos: Thank you for all the special "Dutch juice" you bring to The MakerHive. Your attention to detail and making is on par with a master watch maker. Thank you for when you host at your shop also (thank your wife for the eats too!).
Mark VanDiepenbos: Thank you for being the brother I have always wanted (needed). Thank you for allowing me to help you with your endeavors and ventures. You are truly the definition of an American Maker.
John Oly: Thank you for your tireless energy into the Maker Community. Thanks for all of your "anytime" support to help me into this thing called "Maker".
Steve Wygant: Thank you for all that you do for all Makers. Your charitable and supportive efforts to all of us are remembered on a daily basis. Plus, thanks for just being kick-ass.
Jean-Paul Louis: Thank you for joining The MakerHive this year and being a readily available resource for all of us. Thank you also for your sage wisdom.
The MakerHive Community: Thank you to everyone that has joined The MakerHive forums and thank you to everyone that shows up when they can to The MakerHive. Your input in presence alone helps strengthen The MakerHive and the effect it has on the Community.
Happy MakerDays to all.
