I've been watching this guy build his printer on the printrbottalk forums for a little while. The print quality looks decent and the price is sub-$600. Not sure he'll actually be able to deliver but it's interesting to see the design differences between this and a SeeMeCNC machine.
Sizemore, I agree with you. He provides no evidence that he can manufacture, package, and deliver this machine. Not sure how serious he is about the Kickstarter since he failed his first Kickstarter for it, launches another one for the same product, but yet does no video for it or show it actually running. I will be the 2nd one amazed (After the creator) if this KS succeeds in FUNDING.

I don't foresee his campaign going viral though, so perhaps he will be able to deliver.
My curiosity lies with what Michael mentioned about design differences. It would be interesting to dig into the Printr forums to read through his design considerations and prototypes.
Given infinite time, I would work on an Orion for a week and then take a look at that guys design and RichRaps 3DR. I've got a gut feeling that there is something really interesting to be learned/optimized.
I'm still a Cartesian printer guy, but I don't think there are quite as many secrets of the universe hiding in Cartesians.
