I loaded Repetier to print some fin holders and up popped a message of the update. I updated but haven't taken a close look at the changes. It looked a bit diferent. A never used it as a stand alone yet. Always through Repetier. When I get done printing I'll have to take a look at it. In setting up to print I did notice a few new settings..
The fin holders are coming out nice though.

Hummm,,, I have been getting that message "new update available" but have been ignoring it. In the past I always have to re-configure everything so I haven't felt like updating. Will have to see whats new now.
Some things are meant to be closed. Your mind isn't one of them.

I think you can save your slicing profile before doing the update and then import those settings in the new installation.
Is anybody running Slic3r by itself, or is everybody using it inside of Repetier or MatterControl?

I have run Slic3r standalone a few times to vary layer height in different areas. (like S3D does) Rather hard without 3D preview, so never use it standalone much. However, now that Sli3r has 3D preview in itself, it should be a good standalone option. Especially with it's linking to Octoprint.
