In our attempt to reduce waste my wife selected "e-mail my receipt" during check out at our locale K-mart store. The register then proceeded to print off 3 coupons along with a 4th piece of paper stating that we selected "e-mail my receipt" and that this piece of paper is not a valid receipt. I asked what the point is selecting "e-mail my receipt" if I am going to get all this paper anyways? The reply was so obvious and really put everything into perspective. "Well now you don't have a receipt to throw away". How could I have over looked that?

I have an idea on how to eliminate paper waste like this but have no idea on how to go about getting it implemented. Paper receipts are harder to hack too I guess.
