WOW what a incredible individual we just met with and talked to him on what 3d printing could do for him, he is a little apprehensive about the whole thing but is game for trying to see what can be done, he will be there @ MRRF on friday for us to take measurements and get the ball rolling, I will need everyone's help on figuring out how to print this and assemble it. have not made a decision on the final one to make. there are bonuses for each one. I am leaning towards
www.thingiverse.com/thing:261462 and this www.thingiverse.com/thing:262723 I like the last one with the shape of the gauntlet.
Carlos is originally from Hondurous and got bacterial meningitis, today he is fully recovered from it, this happened in 2011, his profession was a hairdresser. and that is his passion, from the start of feeling sick on a Sunday he took a flu medicine but had only 3 packages, so Monday night he took some and felt better Tuesday, Tuesday night took some and felt better Wednesday, Wednesday night took the last package and felt OK Thursday, then he did not take any by friday he was in lots of pain and his fingures started to turn blue, then his toes, he went to hospital on Saturday, by this time splotches and colors started showing all over, the doctors said that it had progressed rapidly and they gave him medications to see if they could stop it, 3 days later the treatment was not working and they amputated both legs (knee down) all fingers and thumb at the first knuckle and his nose. after months in the hospital he was able to be released. THINK ABOUT THAT..... Monday felt sick and 7 days later they amputated.
Without the funds or insurance to help him he could not pay for physical therapy to learn to function, everything he had know is gone, he has since taught himself to function without. My Wife and I met him today, and when she set the meeting up he wanted to meet @ the DEPOT by the old bag factory in Goshen, the reason was that he was scheduled to do his volunteer work for the depot and could not miss.
We will make this happen as a group effort.
Please pass this onto whoever i missed because I dont have everyone's email.

feeling blessed to have what I do and the ability and connection to hopefully better someone else.
