I printed last night and this morning with the sample 1.75 blue abs. It works just as well as the SeeMe or Ultimachine filament.
melt temp is a bit lower it seems, extruded ok at 205c easy at 210. I printed robots at 215 and 220 with good results. this is with .35 J-Head on my Rostock MAX "KITT" speed 40-50 .2 and .25 layers tested. older marlin fw slic3r
by the way, the out of roundness does not seem to cause any issues. I see on the box the tolerance is +- .1 mm so in that regard it is within that spec.
besides, I went and measured some of the other filaments I have around, they to are not exactly round either. some are a bit better but not all.
so I would say it is a decent choice of filament supplier. nice that it is made in the USA
Mark, I would of had 12 maker bots for you but part way into plate full... ANOTHER cheap PTC from SeeMeCNC failed.
I also noticed yesterday that the IC3D filament didn't seem to burn like some of the others. Some how a gcode file didn't copy properly and my print stopped about half way. I have no idea how long it sat there with the nozzle at 230 degrees. When I restarted the print I realized that I had forgotten to clear out the nozzle but to my surprise the print started with clean filament. I expected it to be burnt.
The blue might be harder to check, but if you could test that one too that would be great.
Some things are meant to be closed. Your mind isn't one of them.
Just got done printing with the blue filament from them, I have good results, no popping sounds like I get from the red filament from seeme, same temps as Brian is printing I would give this 2 thumbs up. good bridging, all around I like the blue. will post pictures once I get the last 2 parts done.
