Glenn,
Felix brought up a good point to me last night, the same old LCD screen and click encoder looks cheesy with the rest of the "high end"? design. I had not thought about it, but he is right.
Did you ever get that color LCD touch screen working completely on your MAX?
What would a ballpark cost be to have that on my printer?
Well I kind of dropped the ball on it - But glad I did becasue they now have a bigger better screen. I am currently developing this one for my tank system - so once That is done I plan to see if I can get it working on the MAX. The problem will be that it will run about $300.00 (I think that might be why no one has done it yet)

ouch but, if looks cool and provides a good user interface the maybe it could be justified on a high end printer. instead of the bigger better screen would the older smaller one be cheaper and still be useful and way better than the LCD & Click encoder.
man for 300 bucks you could just mount a small tablet on the machine and have a on-board computer. that would be slicker yet. even things like previewing g-code should be possible.
The smaller one would be a but more in fact. That's why I'm switching. The tablet would need to be able to run the software, which as far as I know none of the will, tablets run apps like a smart phone. You could almost justify a small laptop maybe, but the idea is to make the printer stand alone. If you need to do things like slice and look at g-code, then connect your laptop.
