Last summer a storm split one of my trees in half so This weekend I am removing the stump - and it's a BIG stump.
The tree
THE STUMP!
I dug out the dirt and cut off the largest of the roots, as seen here
and used my garden hose to erode the dirt out from the root ball. Now I get to start digging out from under it and cut all the little roots - fun fun. Now if I can figure out how to hook the stump to a quad copter and hall it out of there.

Some things are meant to be closed. Your mind isn't one of them.
an root balls make the best grain wood for wood turning, even small stuff like pens.. but bowls look really cool turned green and left to dry, you get some really interesting bowls.

I thought about that also. The stump is in my ditch out back. I'm hoping the rain this week will rinse most of the dirt out of the root ball, then I might try getting a chunk out of it.
My neighbors didn't think I could get it out. They first told me I need to higher a "professional" - then they told me to burn it out with gas (yeah right) So for the Nay-Sayers!
