This is a great video to catch up on all the types of filaments that work with DIY 3D Printers (RepRap).

Looks like ABS with HIPS is the way to go if you have a dual extruder and need support for complicated print structures. HIPS can be purchased at www.filaco.com

Also looks like the secret to printing Nylon and getting it to stick on the platform is to use a nylon build platform that is heavily ruffed and scored. No heated build platform is needed with Nylon.
