Does anyone have a good program for editing meshes and making them solid? My next skull project is a Polar Bear (http://digimorph.org/specimens/Ursus_maritimus/275072/) and I need to really edit the mesh quite a bit (close holes, remove some things, etc). Netfabb does a nice job cleaning up STLs but I actually need to go in and do some major editing in areas. Thoughts, suggestions?
What you will want to do is "section plane" the model so that you can get to those inner parts easily. "section plane" is a tool in sketchup for your familiarity. All modeling programs have them though.
