If you had $3000 to spend on a 3D printer, which one would you get and why?

Ultimaker 2. It earned the Best in Shootout for Make 2014. They're a solid printer and are very well built.

Plus I bought one for my company last week and it cost ~$2500.

I would buy three rostock max. Why put all that money into 1 printer that in my opinion is no better than a rostock, and now you are printing 3x faster.

I was going to suggest that as well, however the cons to a Delta is X and Y build volume is limited. So I would probably go with 1 or 2 Rostock MAX and 1 Cartesian type. Something that will allow you to extend the build vol past 10 or 11 inches in the X and Y if needed. If you never have to print anything bigger then I would agree with Mark.
