This stuff came up when we were talking about the new smooth-on coating for 3D prints. I've been meaning to give POR15 a try for the same application, so maybe I'll pull a can out of the freezer and test it out.
This is the stuff that I've historically painted my moto frames with. I was sold on it when a dusty layer of the overspray peeled off of my dropcloth and could be snapped like a dollar bill. It's basically liquid powdercoat. You can also paint it directly over rust, and moisture chemically hardens and cures it.
Grasp a dollar bill between the fingers and thumb along one edge of the bill. Then do the same with the other hand along the opposite edge like so,
Draw your hands together until the fingers touch. In a single quick motion, jerk the hands apart grasping the bill tightly. You will hear a faint "snap" and the bill won't rip. Unless it is a very old bill and has been wrinkled several times or already has a tare in it.
And yes, I have herd that saying before, mainly from the elderly, but still ...
Some things are meant to be closed. Your mind isn't one of them.
