So with so many slicing options, has anyone found a person/site that's compared them all? Like actually looked at the GCode from them like the first RepRap magazine did for the "big 3"?
It's cool that so many places are creating slicers (although I'm scared that some of them are software programmers that haven't gotten their hands dirty with machines or printing before) but it's a little bit overwhelming to pick between 10+ offerings without knowing what actually makes them different, you know? I guess for now I'll stick with Cura unless I find a compelling reason to change.

That is what I have been saying for a long time. Look at all the printers on the market - all of them work, some better than others, but when you boil it down, very few have any "real advantages" over any other. I have to sigh every time a new printer hits Kickstarter. There is nothing new, improved or innovated - It's just another printer.
Now I see the software is going to same route. I am thinking that this may be the "ugly" side of open source you end up with 5000 ways to peel an apple and none of them are really any different from the other.
Some things are meant to be closed. Your mind isn't one of them.
